There are not many things left from the 1960's that are still going strong into the new century. The mini skirt and leather boots for women and the Paisley shirts and velvet trousers for men have come and gone twice, Civil Rights was at the forefront, The Beatles were introduced to America, the States were involved in the Vietnam conflict, JFK, and landing on the moon were all part of pop culture or of historical relevance. Movie stars like John Wayne, Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman, Rock Hudson, and Julie Andrews were the big names and being a hippie was "cool". However, despite the fact that these names and events were huge for our nation they are not able to bridge the gap of the new century nor do they provide something in common for the baby boomers, Generation X, Y, or Z. But the sixties did give birth to something that was able to grow with the times, get stronger, and to become something in common for people of all ages...Revello's Cafe-Pizza in Old Forge, Pennsylvania.
Revello's was purchased in 1962 in the same exact location where it still stands today. After purchasing the location from another pizza shop, the Revello family immediately recognized the need to provide something fresh, unique, and great tasting to the Old Forge area. Hence the "tray" was born.
Over the course of almost five decades Revello's Cafe-Pizza and the Revello family have continued to provide fantastic pizza to the Old Forge, Pennsylvania area and was monumental in helping Old Forge to become the "Pizza Capital of the World"! Despite the fact that the Revello family has seen numerous others in the pizza and Dining industry come and go the Revello name and pizza have stayed strong the entire time. What did Revello's do in order to keep up with the times? Nothing different that they hadn't done from day one in 1962. In fact, many of the same staff who were there when the Revello's opened shop still are around helping run the Pizza Cafe today!
The Revello family is proud to continue providing the Old Forge and Northeastern Pennsylvania with some of the best pizza to ever come out of an oven. We are proud to help hold the distinction of being from "The Pizza Capital of the World".
